創世記-Genesis 第 40 章

40:1	這些事以後，埃及王的司酒和司膳得罪了他們的主埃及王， And after these things, the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt offended their lord, the king of Egypt.
40:2	法老就惱怒司酒長和司膳長這兩個內臣， And Pharaoh was angry with his two officials, the chief of the cupbearers and the chief of the bakers.
40:3	把他們拘禁在護衛長府內的監裏，就是約瑟被囚的地方。 And he put them in custody at the house of the captain of the guard, in the prison, the place where Joseph was confined.
40:4	護衛長把他們交給約瑟，約瑟便伺候他們；他們被拘禁了一些日子。 And the captain of the guard put Joseph in charge of them, and he ministered to them; and they were in custody for some time.
40:5	被囚在監之埃及王的司酒和司膳，二人同夜各作了一個夢，各夢都有講解。 And the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were confined in the prison, both of them had a dream, each man with his own dream in one night, and each dream with its own interpretation.
40:6	到了早晨，約瑟到他們那裏，見他們甚是愁悶。 And Joseph came to them in the morning and looked at them, and they were troubled.
40:7	他便問法老的兩個內臣，就是與他同被拘禁在他主人府裏的，說，你們今日為什麼麵帶愁容？ And he asked Pharaoh's officials, who were with him in custody in his master's house, saying, Why are your faces so sad today?
40:8	他們對他說，我們各人作了一個夢，沒有人能解。約瑟說，解夢不是神的事麼？請你們將夢告訴我。 And they said to him, We have had a dream, and there is no one to interpret it. And Joseph said to them, Do not interpretations belong to God? Please tell it to me.
40:9	司酒長便將他的夢告訴約瑟，說，我夢見在我麵前有一棵葡萄樹， And the chief of the cupbearers told his dream to Joseph and said to him, In my dream there was a vine before me,
40:10	樹上有三根枝子，一發了芽，就開花，並且上頭一掛一掛的葡萄都成熟了。 And on the vine were three branches. And as soon as it budded, its blossoms came out, and its clusters ripened into grapes.
40:11	法老的杯在我手中，我就拿葡萄擠在法老的杯裏，將杯遞在他手中。 And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand, and I took the grapes and squeezed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I put the cup in Pharaoh's hand.
40:12	約瑟對他說，這夢的講解是這樣：三根枝子就是三天； And Joseph said to him, This is its interpretation: The three branches are three days.
40:13	三天之內，法老必提你出監，叫你恢複原職，你就要照先前作司酒時的慣例，遞杯在法老的手中。 Within three more days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your office, and you will put Pharaoh's cup into his hand according to your former custom when you were his cupbearer.
40:14	但你得好處的時候，求你記得我，施恩慈與我，向法老題說我，救我出這府牢。 But remember my being with you when it is well with you, and please do me a kindness and make mention of me to Pharaoh and so have me brought out of this house.
40:15	我實在是從希伯來人之地被拐來的；我在這裏也沒有作過什麼，叫他們把我下在牢裏。 For I was actually kidnapped out of the land of the Hebrews, and here also I have not done anything that they should put me into the dungeon.
40:16	司膳長見夢解得好，就對約瑟說，我也作了一個夢，見我頭上頂著三筐白餅； Now when the chief of the bakers saw that the interpretation was good, he said to Joseph, I also saw this in my dream: There were three baskets of white bread on my head.
40:17	最上麵的筐子裏有為法老烤的各樣食物，但是有飛鳥來吃我頭上筐子裏的食物。 And in the uppermost basket there were all sorts of baked food for Pharaoh, but the birds were eating them out of the basket on my head.
40:18	約瑟回答說，這夢的講解是這樣：三個筐子就是三天； And Joseph answered and said, This is its interpretation: The three baskets are three days.
40:19	三天之內，法老必斬你的頭，把你掛在木頭上，必有飛鳥來吃你身上的肉。 Within three more days Pharaoh will lift up your head from you and will hang you on a tree, and the birds will eat your flesh from you.
40:20	到了第三天，是法老的生日，他為眾臣仆設擺筵席，把司酒長和司膳長提出監來， And on the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, he made a feast for all his servants; and he lifted up the head of the chief of the cupbearers and the head of the chief of the bakers among his servants.
40:21	使司酒長恢複司酒的職位，他就遞杯在法老手中； And he restored the chief of the cupbearers to his cupbearing, and he put the cup into Pharaoh's hand;
40:22	卻把司膳長掛起來，正如約瑟向他們所講解的。 But the chief of the bakers he hanged, just as Joseph had interpreted to them.
40:23	司酒長卻不記得約瑟，竟把他忘了。 Yet the chief of the cupbearers did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.
