箴1

箴言-Proverbs 第 1 章

1:1	大衛的兒子以色列王所羅門的箴言： The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, the king of Israel:
1:2	要使人曉得智慧和訓誨，辨識通達的言語； For knowing wisdom and instruction; For discerning words of understanding;
1:3	使人領受訓誨，處事明智，有公義、公平和公正； For receiving instruction in wise conduct, Righteousness, justice, and equity;
1:4	使愚蒙人靈明，使少年人有知識和謀略； For giving prudence to the simple, Knowledge and discretion to the young man;
1:5	使智慧人聽見，增長學識，使聰明人得著智謀； That the wise man may hear and increase in learning, And he who has understanding may acquire sound counsel;
1:6	使人明白箴言和譬喻，懂得智慧人的言辭和隱語。 For understanding proverb and figure, The words of the wise and their difficult sayings.
1:7	敬畏耶和華是知識的開端；愚妄人藐視智慧和訓誨。 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.
1:8	我兒，要聽你父親的訓誨，不可離棄你母親的指教； Hear, my son, the instruction of your father, And do not reject the teaching of your mother;
1:9	因為這要作你頭上的華冠，你項上的金鏈。 For they will be a wreath of grace for your head And ornaments for your neck.
1:10	我兒，惡人若引誘你，你不可隨從。 My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.
1:11	他們若說，你與我們同去，我們要埋伏流人的血，要無故蹲伏害無辜的人； If they say, Come with us; let us lie in wait for blood; Let us ambush the innocent without cause;
1:12	我們要像陰間把他們活活吞下，把他們如同下坑的人囫圇吞了。 Let us swallow them alive like Sheol, And whole, like those who go down into the pit.
1:13	我們必得各樣寶物，將所擄來的，裝滿我們的房屋； We will find all manner of precious goods; We will fill our houses with booty;
1:14	你與我們一同有分，大家共用一個囊袋。 Throw in your lot with us; We will all have one purse -
1:15	我兒，不要與他們同行這道路；禁止你的腳走他們的途徑。 My son, do not walk with them on this way; Keep your foot from their path.
1:16	因為他們的腳向惡奔跑；他們急速流人的血。 For their feet run toward evil, And they hasten to shed blood.
1:17	好像飛鳥，雖有網羅張設在眼前，仍視而不見； For in vain is the net spread In the eyes of any bird;
1:18	這些人埋伏，是為自流己血；蹲伏，是為自害己命。 Yet they lie in wait for their own blood; They ambush their own lives!
1:19	凡貪戀財利的，所行之路都是如此；這會奪去得財者的命。 Such are the ways of everyone greedy for gain; It takes away the life of its owners.
1:20	智慧在街市上呼喊，在廣場上發聲。 Wisdom cries out in the street; She utters her voice in the open squares.
1:21	在熱鬧街頭喊叫，在城門口，在城裏發出言語，說， At the head of the tumultuous street she cries; At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings:
1:22	你們愚蒙人喜愛愚昧，褻慢人喜歡褻慢，愚頑人恨惡知識，要到幾時呢？ How long, O simple ones, will you love simpleness, And will scoffers delight themselves in scoffing, And will fools hate knowledge?
1:23	你們當因我的責備回轉；看哪，我要將我的靈澆灌你們，將我的話指示你們。 Turn yourselves at my reproof-Immediately I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.
1:24	我呼喚，你們拒絕；我伸手，無人理會， Because I called and you refused; I stretched out my hand and no one heeded,
1:25	反倒輕棄我一切的勸戒，不肯受我的責備。 And you neglected all my counsel And would have none of my reproof;
1:26	你們遭災難，我也必發笑；驚恐臨到你們，我必嗤笑。 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when what you dread comes,
1:27	驚恐臨到你們，好像狂風；災難來到，如同旋風；急難困苦臨到你們身上。 When what you dread comes like a storm, And your calamity comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.
1:28	那時，他們必呼求我，我卻不答應；懇切的尋找我，卻尋不見。 Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.
1:29	因為他們恨惡知識，不選擇敬畏耶和華， Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of Jehovah,
1:30	不肯受我的勸戒，藐視我一切的責備， And would have none of my counsel And despised all my reproof;
1:31	所以他們必吃自己行徑的果子，飽嚐自設的計謀。 They shall eat of the fruit of their own way And be filled with their own devices.
1:32	愚蒙人背道，必殺己身；愚頑人安逸，必滅己命。 For the turning away of the simple will kill them, And the prosperity of the foolish will cause them to perish;
1:33	惟有聽從我的，必安然居住，得享安寧，免受災禍的驚恐。 But he who listens to me will dwell securely And will live at ease, without the dread of evil.
