創世記-Genesis 第 11 章

11:1那時，全地的人隻有一種語言，都說同樣的話語。
And the whole earth had one language and the same speech.
11:2他們往東邊遷移的時候，在示拿地遇見一片平原，就住在那裏。
And as they journeyed east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
11:3他們彼此商量說，來罷，我們作磚，把磚燒透。他們就拿磚當石頭，又拿石漆當灰泥。
And they said to one another, Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and they had tar for mortar.
11:4他們說，來罷，我們建造一座城和一座塔，塔頂通天；我們要宣揚我們的名，免得我們分散在全地上。
And they said, Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower whose top is in the heavens; and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered over the surface of the whole earth.
11:5耶和華降臨，要看看世人所建造的城和塔。
And Jehovah came down to see the city and the tower which the children of men had built.
11:6耶和華說，看哪，他們是一樣的人民，都說一樣的語言；這不過是他們開頭要作的事，以後他們所圖謀要作的，就沒有能阻擋的了。
And Jehovah said, Behold, they are one people, and they all have one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do; and now nothing which they purpose to do will be kept from them.
11:7來罷，我們下去，在那裏變亂他們的語言，使他們的言語彼此不通。
Come, let Us go down and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
11:8於是耶和華使他們從那裏分散在全地上；他們就停工，不造那城了。
So Jehovah scattered them from there over the surface of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.
11:9因為耶和華在那裏變亂全地人的語言，使眾人分散在全地上，所以那城名叫巴別。
Therefore its name was called Babel, because there Jehovah confounded the language of all the earth, and from there Jehovah scattered them over the surface of all the earth.
11:10閃的後代記在下麵：洪水以後二年，閃一百歲生了亞法撒。
These are the generations of Shem. Shem was one hundred years old when he begot Arpachshad, two years after the flood.
11:11閃生亞法撒之後，又活了五百年，並且生兒生女。
And Shem lived after he had begotten Arpachshad five hundred years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
11:12亞法撒活到三十五歲，生了沙拉。
And Arpachshad lived thirty-five years and begot Shelah.
11:13亞法撒生沙拉之後，又活了四百零三年，並且生兒生女。
And Arpachshad lived after he had begotten Shelah four hundred three years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
11:14沙拉活到三十歲，生了希伯。
And Shelah lived thirty years and begot Eber.
11:15沙拉生希伯之後，又活了四百零三年，並且生兒生女。
And Shelah lived after he had begotten Eber four hundred three years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
11:16希伯活到三十四歲，生了法勒。
And Eber lived thirty-four years and begot Peleg.
11:17希伯生法勒之後，又活了四百三十年，並且生兒生女。
And Eber lived after he had begotten Peleg four hundred thirty years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
11:18法勒活到三十歲，生了拉吳。
And Peleg lived thirty years and begot Reu.
11:19法勒生拉吳之後，又活了二百零九年，並且生兒生女。
And Peleg lived after he had begotten Reu two hundred nine years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
11:20拉吳活到三十二歲，生了西鹿。
And Reu lived thirty-two years and begot Serug.
11:21拉吳生西鹿之後，又活了二百零七年，並且生兒生女。
And Reu lived after he had begotten Serug two hundred seven years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
11:22西鹿活到三十歲，生了拿鶴。
And Serug lived thirty years and begot Nahor.
11:23西鹿生拿鶴之後，又活了二百年，並且生兒生女。
And Serug lived after he had begotten Nahor two hundred years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
11:24拿鶴活到二十九歲，生了他拉。
And Nahor lived twenty-nine years and begot Terah.
11:25拿鶴生他拉之後，又活了一百一十九年，並且生兒生女。
And Nahor lived after he had begotten Terah one hundred nineteen years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
11:26他拉活到七十歲，生了亞伯蘭、拿鶴、哈蘭。
And Terah lived seventy years and begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
11:27他拉的後代記在下麵：他拉生亞伯蘭、拿鶴、哈蘭；哈蘭生羅得。
Now these are the generations of Terah. Terah begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran. And Haran begot Lot.
11:28哈蘭死在他的出生地迦勒底的吾珥，在他父親他拉之先。
And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldeans.
11:29亞伯蘭、拿鶴各娶了妻子：亞伯蘭的妻子名叫撒萊；拿鶴的妻子名叫密迦，是哈蘭的女兒；哈蘭是密迦和亦迦的父親。
And Abram and Nahor took wives for themselves: The name of Abram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah and the father of Iscah.
11:30撒萊不生育，沒有孩子。
And Sarai was barren; she had no child.
11:31他拉帶著他兒子亞伯蘭和他孫子哈蘭的兒子羅得，並他兒媳亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊，一起出了迦勒底的吾珥，要往迦南地去；他們走到哈蘭，就住在那裏。
And Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his son's son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife; and they went out together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan, but when they came to Haran they settled there.
11:32他拉共活了二百零五歲，就死在哈蘭。
And the days of Terah were two hundred five years, and Terah died in Haran.
