申命記-Deuteronomy 第 8 章

8:1	我今日所吩咐你的一切誡命，你們要謹守遵行，好叫你們存活，人數增多，得以進入耶和華向你們列祖起誓應許的那地，承受為業。 The whole commandment which I am commanding you today, you shall keep and do, so that you may live and multiply, and enter and possess the land which Jehovah swore to your fathers.
8:2	你也要記念耶和華你的神，這四十年在曠野引導你走的路程，是要苦煉你，試驗你，要知道你心內如何，肯守祂的誡命不肯。 And you shall remember all the way that Jehovah your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness in order to humble you and test you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.
8:3	祂苦煉你，任你饑餓，將你和你列祖所不認識的嗎哪賜給你吃，使你知道，人活著不是單靠食物，乃是靠耶和華口裏所出的一切話。 And He humbled you and let you go hungry and fed you the manna, which you had never known nor your fathers had ever known, so that He might make you know that man lives not by bread alone, but that man lives by everything that proceeds out from the mouth of Jehovah.
8:4	這四十年，你身上的衣服沒有穿破，你的腳也沒有走腫。 Your clothing did not wear out from upon you, nor did your foot swell these forty years.
8:5	你心裏要明白，耶和華你神管教你，好像人管教兒子一樣。 Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Jehovah your God was disciplining you;
8:6	所以你要謹守耶和華你神的誡命，行祂的道路，敬畏祂。 Therefore keep the commandments of Jehovah your God, walking in His ways and fearing Him.
8:7	因為耶和華你神領你進入美地，那地有川，有泉，有源，從穀中和山上流出水來； For Jehovah your God is bringing you to a good land, a land of waterbrooks, of springs and of fountains, flowing forth in valleys and in mountains;
8:8	那地有小麥、大麥、葡萄樹、無花果樹、石榴樹；那地有出油的橄欖樹，有蜜。 A land of wheat and barley and vines and fig trees and pomegranates; a land of olive trees with oil and of honey;
8:9	你在那地不缺食物，你必一無所缺；那地的石頭是鐵，山內可以挖銅。 A land in which you will eat bread without scarcity; you will not lack anything in it; a land whose stones are iron, and from whose mountains you can mine copper.
8:10	你吃得飽足，就要頌讚耶和華你的神，因祂將那美地賜給你了。 And you shall eat and be satisfied, and you shall bless Jehovah your God for the good land which He has given you.
8:11	你要謹慎，免得忘記耶和華你的神，不守祂的誡命、典章和律例，就是我今日所吩咐你的； Be careful lest you forget Jehovah your God by not keeping His commandments and His judgments and His statutes, which I am commanding you today;
8:12	恐怕你吃得飽足，建造美好的房屋居住， Lest when you have eaten and are satisfied, and have built fine houses and dwell in them,
8:13	你的牛羊加多，你的金銀增添，你所有的全都加增， And your herd and your flock have multiplied, and your silver and your gold have multiplied, and all that you have has multiplied,
8:14	你就心裏高傲，忘記耶和華你的神，就是將你從埃及地，從為奴之家領出來的； Your heart be lifted up and you forget Jehovah your God, Him who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the slave house;
8:15	祂引你經過那大而可怕的曠野，那裏有火蛇、蠍子、和幹旱無水之地；祂為你使水從堅硬的磐石中流出來； Who led you through the great and awesome wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water; who brought forth water for you out of flint rock;
8:16	又在曠野將你列祖所不認識的嗎哪賜給你吃，是要苦煉你，試驗你，叫你終久得福； Who fed you manna in the wilderness, which your fathers had never known, that He might humble you and that He might test you in order to do good for you in the end;
8:17	恐怕你心裏說，我這財富是我的力量和我手的能力得來的。 And you say in your heart, My strength and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.
8:18	你要記念耶和華你的神，因為得財富的力量是祂給你的，為要堅定祂向你列祖起誓所立的約，像今日一樣。 But you shall remember Jehovah your God, for it is He who gives you strength to gain wealth, so that He may establish His covenant, which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
8:19	你若忘記耶和華你的神，去隨從別神，事奉跪拜它們，我今日向你們作證，你們必定滅亡。 And if you forget Jehovah your God at all and go after other gods and serve them and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely perish.
8:20	耶和華在你們麵前怎樣使列國滅亡，你們也必照樣滅亡，因為你們不聽從耶和華你們神的話。 Like the nations which Jehovah is about to destroy before your face, so you will perish, because you would not listen to the voice of Jehovah your God.
