士師記-Judges 第 12 章

12:1	以法蓮人被召集，過河到了撒分，對耶弗他說，你過去攻打亞捫人，為什麼沒有召我們同去呢？我們必用火燒你和你的房屋。 Then the men of Ephraim were gathered together, and they crossed over to Zaphon and said to Jephthah, Why did you cross over to fight against the children of Ammon and not call us to go with you? We will burn your house down over you.
12:2	耶弗他對他們說，我和我的民與亞捫人極力奮戰；我向你們呼救，你們竟沒有來救我脫離他們的手。 And Jephthah said to them, I and my people were in great strife with the children of Ammon; but when I called out to you, you did not save me from their hand.
12:3	我見你們不來救我，就不顧性命，過去攻擊亞捫人；耶和華將他們交在我手中。你們今日為什麼上我這裏來攻打我呢？ So when I saw that there would be no help from you, I put my life in my own hand and crossed over to the children of Ammon; and Jehovah delivered them into my hand. So why have you come up against me this day to fight against me?
12:4	於是耶弗他招聚基列眾人，與以法蓮人爭戰。基列人擊殺以法蓮人，是因他們說，你們基列人在以法蓮、瑪拿西中間，不過是以法蓮逃亡的人。 And Jephthah gathered all the men of Gilead together and fought with Ephraim. And the men of Gilead struck Ephraim because they said, You are fugitives from Ephraim, O Gilead, in the midst of Ephraim and Manasseh.
12:5	基列人把守約但河的渡口，不讓以法蓮人過去。以法蓮逃走的人若說，讓我過去，基列人就問他說，你是以法蓮人不是？他若說，不是， And the Gileadites took the fords of the Jordan against the Ephraimites. And when a fugitive of Ephraim said, Let me cross over, the men of Gilead would say to him, Are you an Ephraimite? And if he said, No,
12:6	就對他說，你說示播列。以法蓮人因為咬不準字音，便說西播列。基列人就將他拿住，殺在約但河的渡口。那時以法蓮人被殺的有四萬二千。 They would say to him, Then say, Shibboleth. And he would say, Sibboleth; for he could not say it correctly. Then they would seize him and slay him at the fords of the Jordan. And at that time forty-two thousand of Ephraim fell.
12:7	耶弗他作以色列的士師六年。基列人耶弗他死了，葬在基列的一座城裏。 And Jephthah judged Israel six years. And Jephthah the Gileadite died and was buried in one of the cities of Gilead.
12:8	耶弗他以後，有伯利恒的以比讚作以色列的士師。 Then after him Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.
12:9	他有三十個兒子，三十個女兒；女兒都嫁到外鄉去。他給眾子從外鄉娶了三十個女子為妻。他作以色列的士師七年。 And he had thirty sons; and he sent out thirty daughters abroad and brought in thirty foreign daughters from abroad for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.
12:10	以比讚死了，葬在伯利恒。 And Ibzan died and was buried in Bethlehem.
12:11	以比讚之後，有西布倫人以倫，作以色列的士師十年。 Then after him Elon the Zebulunite judged Israel. And he judged Israel ten years.
12:12	西布倫人以倫死了，葬在西布倫地的亞雅侖。 And Elon the Zebulunite died and was buried in Aijalon in the land of Zebulun.
12:13	以倫之後，有比拉頓人希列的兒子押頓作以色列的士師。 Then after him Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite judged Israel.
12:14	他有四十個兒子，三十個孫子，騎著七十匹驢。押頓作以色列的士師八年。 And he had forty sons and thirty grandsons, who rode upon seventy donkeys. And he judged Israel eight years.
12:15	比拉頓人希列的兒子押頓死了，葬在以法蓮地的比拉頓，在亞瑪力人的山地。 And Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the hill country of the Amalekites.
