| 23:1 | 有人告訴大衛說，非利士人正在攻擊基伊拉，搶奪禾場。 And some told David, saying, The Philistines are now fighting against Keilah and robbing the threshing floors. |
| 23:2 | 所以大衛求問耶和華說，我去攻打這些非利士人，可以不可以？耶和華對大衛說，你可以去攻打非利士人，拯救基伊拉。 And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go and strike these Philistines? And Jehovah said to David, Go and strike the Philistines, and save Keilah. |
| 23:3 | 跟隨大衛的人對他說，我們在猶大這裏尚且懼怕，何況往基伊拉去攻擊非利士人的軍旅呢？ And David's men said to him, Here we are, afraid here in Judah; how much more if we go to Keilah against the ranks of the Philistines! |
| 23:4 | 大衛又求問耶和華。耶和華回答說，你起身下基伊拉去，因我已將非利士人交在你手裏。 So David inquired yet again of Jehovah. And Jehovah answered him and said, Rise up; go down to Keilah, for I have delivered the Philistines into your hand. |
| 23:5 | 大衛和跟隨他的人往基伊拉去，攻打非利士人，奪走他們的牲畜，又大大擊殺他們。這樣，大衛救了基伊拉的居民。 Then David and his men went to Keilah and fought against the Philistines and carried off their cattle and struck them down with a great slaughter. And David saved the inhabitants of Keilah. |
| 23:6 | 亞希米勒的兒子亞比亞他，逃到基伊拉見大衛的時候，是手裏拿著以弗得下去的。 Now it so happened that when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David at Keilah, he came down with an ephod in his hand. |
| 23:7 | 有人告訴掃羅說，大衛到了基伊拉。掃羅說，神將他交付在我手裏了，因為他進入有門有閂的城，關閉在裏頭了。 Then it was told Saul that David had come to Keilah. And Saul said, God has delivered him into my hand; for he is shut in, because he has entered a city with gates and bars. |
| 23:8 | 於是掃羅招聚眾民去打仗，要下到基伊拉，圍困大衛和跟隨他的人。 And Saul summoned all the people to battle, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men. |
| 23:9 | 大衛知道掃羅設計要害他，就對祭司亞比亞他說，將以弗得拿過來。 But when David learned that Saul was planning evil against him, he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring the ephod here. |
| 23:10 | 大衛說，耶和華以色列的神阿，你仆人確實聽見掃羅要往基伊拉來，為我的緣故滅城。 And David said, O Jehovah the God of Israel, Your servant has heard for certain that Saul is seeking to come to Keilah in order to destroy the city on my account. |
| 23:11 | 基伊拉的居民會將我交在掃羅手裏麼？掃羅會照著你仆人所聽見的下來麼？耶和華以色列的神阿，求你指示仆人。耶和華說，掃羅必下來。 Will the men of Keilah deliver me into his hand? Will Saul come down, as Your servant has heard? O Jehovah the God of Israel, do tell Your servant. And Jehovah said, He will come down. |
| 23:12 | 大衛又說，基伊拉的居民會將我和跟隨我的人交在掃羅手裏麼？耶和華說，他們必將你交出來。 And David said, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And Jehovah said, They will deliver you. |
| 23:13 | 大衛和跟隨他的約有六百人，就起身出了基伊拉，往他們所能往的地方去。有人告訴掃羅，大衛已經離開基伊拉逃走；於是掃羅不出來了。 So David and his men, about six hundred men, rose up and went forth from Keilah; and they went about wherever they could. And when it was told Saul that David had slipped away from Keilah, he ceased his going forth. |
| 23:14 | 大衛住在曠野的山寨裏，住在西弗曠野的山地。掃羅天天尋索大衛，神卻不將大衛交在他手裏。 And David remained in the wilderness in strongholds, and he remained in the hill country in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God did not deliver him into his hand. |
| 23:15 | 大衛知道掃羅出來尋索他的命。那時，他在西弗曠野的何列斯； And David saw that Saul went forth to seek his life, and David was in the wilderness of Ziph at Horesh. |
| 23:16 | 掃羅的兒子約拿單起身，往何列斯去見大衛，使他倚靠神剛強行事； Then Jonathan the son of Saul rose up and went to David at Horesh, and he strengthened his hand in God. |
| 23:17 | 對他說，不要懼怕。我父親掃羅的手必構不到你；你必作以色列的王，我必在你以下位居第二。這事連我父親掃羅也知道了。 And he said to him, Do not be afraid, for the hand of Saul my father will not find you; and you will become king over Israel, and I will be second to you; and even Saul my father knows that. |
| 23:18 | 於是二人在耶和華麵前立約。大衛仍住在何列斯，約拿單回家去了。 And the two of them made a covenant before Jehovah. And David remained in Horesh, and Jonathan went to his house. |
| 23:19 | 西弗人上到基比亞見掃羅，說，大衛不是在我們那裏，在何列斯的山寨中，在荒野南邊的哈基拉山藏著麼？ Then some Ziphites went up to Saul at Gibeah, saying, David is indeed hiding among us in the strongholds at Horesh, on the hill of Hachilah, which is south of the desert! |
| 23:20 | 王阿，現在請照你自己的意願下來，我們必將他交在王的手裏。 Now then, O king, come down, according to all your soul's desire to come down; and we will deliver him into the hand of the king. |
| 23:21 | 掃羅說，願耶和華賜福與你們，因你們顧恤我。 And Saul said, Blessed are you of Jehovah, for you have had compassion on me. |
| 23:22 | 請你們回去，再確實查明他腳蹤所到之處，是誰看見他在那裏，因為有人對我說，他甚狡猾。 Go now, and make sure once more; and find out and look into his place, where he sets foot, who has seen him there; for I am told that he is very cunning. |
| 23:23 | 所以要查知他一切藏匿的地方，回來據實告訴我，我就與你們同去；他若在境內，我必從猶大的各家族中搜出他來。 And look about and learn of all his hiding places where he lurks, and come back to me with sure information; then I will go with you, and if he is in the land, I will search him out among all the thousands of Judah. |
| 23:24 | 西弗人就起身，在掃羅以先往西弗去。大衛和跟隨他的人在瑪雲的曠野，在荒野南邊的亞拉巴。 And they rose up and went to Ziph before Saul. And David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the Arabah to the south of the desert. |
| 23:25 | 掃羅和跟隨他的人去尋找大衛；有人告訴大衛，他就下到磐石，住在瑪雲的曠野。掃羅聽見，便在瑪雲的曠野追趕大衛。 And Saul and his men went to seek him. And when some told David this, he went down to the rock and remained in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard of it, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon. |
| 23:26 | 掃羅在山這邊走，大衛和跟隨他的人在山那邊走。大衛急忙躲避掃羅；因為掃羅和跟隨他的人，四麵圍住大衛和跟隨他的人，要拿獲他們。 And Saul went on one side of the mountain, while David and his men went on the other side of the mountain. And David hurried to get away from Saul, while Saul and his men were closing in on David and his men in order to capture them. |
| 23:27 | 有使者來見掃羅，說，非利士人犯境搶掠，請快快回去。 Then a messenger came to Saul, saying, Hurry and come, for the Philistines have raided the land. |
| 23:28 | 於是掃羅不追趕大衛，回去與非利士人接戰；因此那地方叫作西拉哈瑪希羅結。 So Saul returned from pursuing after David, and he went to meet the Philistines; therefore they call that place the Rock of Escape. |
| 23:29 | 大衛從那裏上去，住在隱基底的山寨裏。 And David went up from there and remained in the strongholds of En-gedi. |
