| 14:1 | 那時分封的王希律聽見耶穌的名聲， At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Jesus, |
| 14:2 | 就對臣仆說，這是施浸者約翰從死人中複活了，所以這些異能發顯在他身上。 And he said to his servants, This is John the Baptist; he has been raised from the dead, and because of this these works of power are operating through him. |
| 14:3 | 原來希律為他兄弟腓力的妻子希羅底的緣故，把約翰拿住，捆鎖起來，關藏在監裏。 For Herod had seized John and bound him and put him in prison on account of Herodias, the wife of Philip his brother. |
| 14:4 | 因為約翰曾對他說，你不可娶這婦人。 For John had been saying to him, It is not lawful for you to have her. |
| 14:5 | 希律想要殺他，隻是怕群眾，因他們都以約翰為申言者。 And though he desired to kill him, he feared the crowd because they held him as a prophet. |
| 14:6 | 到了希律的生日，希羅底的女兒在眾人中間跳舞，使希律歡喜。 But when Herod's birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced in their midst and pleased Herod; |
| 14:7 | 因此希律就起誓，應許她無論求什麼都給她。 Hence, he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked. |
| 14:8 | 她受她母親唆使，就說，請把施浸者約翰的頭，放在盤子上給我。 And she, being instigated by her mother, said, Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist. |
| 14:9 | 王雖憂愁，但因所起的誓，又因同席的人，就吩咐給她。 And the king was grieved, yet because of the oaths and those reclining at table with him, he commanded it to be given. |
| 14:10 | 於是打發人去，在監裏斬了約翰， And he sent men and beheaded John in the prison. |
| 14:11 | 把他的頭放在盤子上，拿來給閨女，她就拿去給她母親。 And his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother. |
| 14:12 | 約翰的門徒進前來，把屍體領去，埋葬了，就去報告耶穌。 And his disciples came and took the corpse and buried it; and they came and reported the matter to Jesus. |
| 14:13 | 耶穌聽見，就上船，從那裏獨自退到野地去。群眾聽見，就從各城步行跟隨祂。 And when Jesus heard this, He withdrew from there in a boat to a deserted place privately. And when the crowds heard of it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. |
| 14:14 | 耶穌出來，看見大批的群眾，就對他們動了慈心，治好了他們的病人。 And going forth, He saw a great crowd, and He was moved with compassion for them and healed their sick. |
| 14:15 | 到了黃昏，門徒到祂跟前來，說，這是野地，時候已經晚了，請解散這些群眾，他們好往村子裏去，為自己買食物。 Now when evening fell, the disciples came to Him, saying, This place is deserted and the hour is already late. Send the crowds away that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves. |
| 14:16 | 耶穌卻對他們說，不用他們去，你們給他們吃吧。 But Jesus said to them, They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat. |
| 14:17 | 他們就對祂說，我們這裏除了五個餅兩條魚，再沒有別的。 And they said to Him, We do not have anything here except five loaves and two fish. |
| 14:18 | 祂就說，拿過來給我。 And He said, Bring them here to Me. |
| 14:19 | 於是吩咐群眾坐在草地上，就拿著五個餅兩條魚，望著天祝福，擘開餅，遞給門徒，門徒便遞給群眾。 And after commanding the crowds to recline on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples to the crowds. |
| 14:20 | 眾人都吃，並且吃飽了。他們拾起剩下的零碎，裝滿了十二籃子。 And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve handbaskets full. |
| 14:21 | 吃的人，除了婦女孩子，約有五千。 And those who ate were about five thousand men, apart from women and children. |
| 14:22 | 耶穌隨即催門徒上船，在祂以先到對岸去，等祂解散群眾。 And immediately He compelled the disciples to step into the boat and to go before Him to the other side, while He sent the crowds away. |
| 14:23 | 既解散了群眾，祂就獨自上山去禱告。到了晚上，隻有祂單獨在那裏。 And after He sent the crowds away, He went up to the mountain privately to pray. And when night fell, He was there alone. |
| 14:24 | 這時船在海中，因風不順，被浪折磨。 Now the boat was already in the midst of the sea, being battered by the waves, for the wind was contrary. |
| 14:25 | 夜裏四更天，祂在海上向他們走去。 And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. |
| 14:26 | 門徒看見祂在海上走，就驚慌，說，這是個鬼怪！由於懼怕，便喊叫起來。 And the disciples, seeing Him walking on the sea, were startled, saying, It is a ghost! And they cried out for fear. |
| 14:27 | 耶穌連忙對他們說，放心，是我，不要怕。 But immediately Jesus talked to them, saying, Take courage. It is I. Do not be afraid. |
| 14:28 | 彼得回答說，主，若是你，請吩咐我從水上到你那裏去。 And Peter answered Him and said, Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water. |
| 14:29 | 祂就說，來吧。彼得就從船上下去，在水上向耶穌走去。 And He said, Come. And Peter, coming down from the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. |
| 14:30 | 隻因見風甚大，就害怕，將要沉下去，便喊著說，主啊，救我！ But seeing the strong wind, he became frightened; and as he began to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me! |
| 14:31 | 耶穌趕緊伸手拉住他，對他說，小信的人哪，為什麼疑惑？ And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him and said to him, You of little faith, why did you doubt? |
| 14:32 | 他們上了船，風就止住了。 And when they got up into the boat, the wind ceased. |
| 14:33 | 船上的人遂都拜祂說，你真是神的兒子。 And those who were in the boat worshipped Him, saying, Truly You are the Son of God. |
| 14:34 | 他們既渡過去，就上了岸，來到革尼撒勒。 And they crossed over and came to land at Gennesaret. |
| 14:35 | 那地方的人一認出是耶穌，就打發人到四周全境，把一切有病的帶到祂那裏， And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent word into all that surrounding region and brought to Him all who were ill. |
| 14:36 | 求祂讓他們隻摸祂的衣服穗子，凡摸著的，都完全得了拯救。 And they begged Him that they might only touch the fringe of His garment. And as many as touched were completely healed. |
