創世記-Genesis 第 23 章

23:1	撒拉享壽一百二十七歲，這是撒拉一生的歲數。 And the life of Sarah was one hundred twenty-seven years. These were the years of the life of Sarah.
23:2	撒拉死在迦南地的基列亞巴，就是希伯侖。亞伯拉罕為她哀慟哭號。 And Sarah died in Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan. And Abraham proceeded to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her.
23:3	後來亞伯拉罕從死人麵前起來，對赫人說， Then Abraham rose up from before his dead wife and spoke to the children of Heth, saying,
23:4	我在你們中間是外人，是寄居的，求你們讓我在這裏得著一塊墳地，我好埋葬我的死人，使她不在我眼前。 I am a stranger and a sojourner among you. Give me the possession of a burial place among you that I may bury my dead wife out of my sight.
23:5	赫人回答亞伯拉罕說， And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him,
23:6	我主請聽，你在我們中間是神的王子，隻管在我們最好的墳地埋葬你的死人；我們沒有一人不容你在他的墳地埋葬你的死人。 Hear us, my lord. You are a prince of God in our midst. In the choicest of our burial places bury your dead wife. None of us will withhold from you his burial place for burying your dead wife.
23:7	亞伯拉罕就起來，向那地的赫人下拜， And Abraham rose up and bowed down to the people of the land, to the children of Heth.
23:8	對他們說，你們若有意叫我埋葬我的死人，使她不在我眼前，就請聽我的話，為我求瑣轄的兒子以弗侖， And he spoke with them, saying, If it is your desire that I should bury my dead wife out of my sight, hear me, and entreat for me Ephron the son of Zohar
23:9	把他田地盡頭那麥比拉洞給我；他可以按著足價賣給我，使我在你們中間得著一塊墳地。 That he would give me the cave of Machpelah, which is his, and which is at the end of his field. For the full price let him give it to me in your midst for the possession of a burial place.
23:10	當時以弗侖正坐在赫人中間。於是，赫人以弗侖在出入城門的赫人麵前回答亞伯拉罕說， Now Ephron was sitting in the midst of the children of Heth. And Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the hearing of the children of Heth, in the hearing of all who went in at the gate of his city, saying,
23:11	不然，我主請聽，我送給你這塊田，連田間的洞也送給你，在我同族的人麵前都給你，可以埋葬你的死人。 No, my lord, hear me. I give you the field and the cave that is in it, to you I give it. In the presence of the children of my people I give it to you; bury your dead wife.
23:12	亞伯拉罕就在那地的人麵前下拜， And Abraham bowed down before the people of the land.
23:13	在他們麵前對以弗侖說，你若應允，請聽我的話，我要把田價給你，求你收下，使我可以在那裏埋葬我的死人。 And he spoke to Ephron in the hearing of the people of the land, saying, But if you will, please hear me; I will give the price of the field. Take it from me, that I may bury my dead wife there.
23:14	以弗侖回答亞伯拉罕說， And Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him,
23:15	我主請聽。值四百舍客勒銀子的一塊地，在你我中間還算什麼呢？隻管埋葬你的死人罷。 My lord, listen to me. A piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that between me and you? Therefore bury your dead wife.
23:16	亞伯拉罕聽從了以弗侖，照著他在赫人麵前所題說的，把買賣通用的銀子稱了四百舍客勒給以弗侖。 And Abraham listened to Ephron, and Abraham weighed out to Ephron the silver which he had named in the hearing of the children of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current with the merchant.
23:17	於是，在幔利前的麥比拉，以弗侖的那塊田和其中的洞，並田間四圍的樹木， So the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah and which was before Mamre, the field and the cave which was in it and all the trees that were in the field, which were in all its territory, were assured
23:18	都定準歸與亞伯拉罕為業，乃是他在出入城門的赫人麵前買妥的。 To Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, in the presence of all who went in at the gate of his city.
23:19	此後，亞伯拉罕把他妻子撒拉埋葬在迦南地幔利前，麥比拉田間的洞裏。(幔利就是希伯侖。) And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan.
23:20	從此，那塊田和田間的洞，就定準從赫人歸與亞伯拉罕為業，作墳地。 And the field and the cave that is in it were assured to Abraham for the possession of a burial place from the children of Heth.
