耶利米書-Jeremiah 第 42 章

42:1	眾軍長和加利亞的兒子約哈難，並何沙雅的兒子耶撒尼亞，以及眾百姓，從最小的到至大的，都進前來， And all the captains of the forces and Johanan the son of Kareah and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah and all the people, from the small even unto the great, came near
42:2	對申言者耶利米說，求你準我們的祈求達到你麵前，為我們這餘剩的眾人禱告耶和華你的神；我們本來很多，現今餘剩的卻極少，這是你親眼所見的。 And said to Jeremiah the prophet, Let our supplication come before you, and pray for us to Jehovah your God for all this remnant-for we are left only a few out of many, as your eyes see us -
42:3	願耶和華你的神告訴我們所當走的路，所當作的事。 That Jehovah your God may tell us the way in which we should go and the thing which we should do.
42:4	申言者耶利米對他們說，我已經聽見了。我必照著你們的話禱告耶和華你們的神；耶和華無論回答什麼，我必都告訴你們，毫不隱瞞。 Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, I have heard. I will pray to Jehovah your God according to your words; and whatever Jehovah answers you, I will tell you; I will not withhold anything from you.
42:5	於是他們對耶利米說，我們若不照耶和華你的神差遣你來對我們說的一切話去行，願耶和華作真實誠信的見證人指責我們。 And they said to Jeremiah, May Jehovah be a true and faithful witness against us if we do not do according to every word with which Jehovah your God sends you to us.
42:6	我們差你到耶和華我們的神那裏，祂說的無論是好是歹，我們都必聽從，好叫我們聽從耶和華我們神的話，就可以得福。 Whether it is good or whether it is evil, we will listen to the voice of Jehovah our God, to whom we send you, that it may be well with us, when we listen to the voice of Jehovah our God.
42:7	過了十天，耶和華的話臨到耶利米。 And at the end of ten days the word of Jehovah came to Jeremiah.
42:8	他就將加利亞的兒子約哈難，和同著他的眾軍長並眾百姓，從最小的到至大的，都叫了來， Then he called Johanan the son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces who were with him and all the people, from the small even unto the great,
42:9	對他們說，耶和華以色列的神，就是你們差我在祂麵前為你們懇求的，如此說， And said to them, Thus says Jehovah the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to present your supplication before Him:
42:10	你們若仍住在這地，我就建立你們並不拆毀，栽植你們並不拔出；因我為降與你們的災禍後悔了。 If you will still remain in this land, I will build you up and not tear you down, and I will plant you and not pluck you up; for I repent of the evil which I have done to you.
42:11	不要怕你們所怕的巴比倫王。耶和華說，不要怕他，因為我與你們同在，要拯救你們脫離他的手。 Do not fear the king of Babylon, whom you fear. Do not fear him, declares Jehovah, for I am with you to save you and to deliver you from his hand.
42:12	我也要向你們施憐恤，叫他憐恤你們，使你們歸回本地。 And I will show compassions to you, that he may have compassion on you and may bring you back to your own land.
42:13	倘若你們說，我們不要住在這地，以致不聽從耶和華你們神的話， But if you say, We will not remain in this land, so that you do not listen to the voice of Jehovah your God,
42:14	說，不，我們要進入埃及地，在那裏我們看不見爭戰，聽不見角聲，也不至饑餓無食；我們必住在那裏； Saying, No, but we will go to the land of Egypt, where we will not see war or hear the sound of the trumpet or be hungry for bread, and we will dwell there;
42:15	你們猶大餘剩的人哪，現在要聽耶和華的話：萬軍之耶和華以色列的神如此說，你們若定意要往埃及去，在那裏寄居； Then hear now the word of Jehovah, O remnant of Judah: Thus says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, If indeed you set your faces to go to Egypt and go to sojourn there,
42:16	你們所懼怕的刀劍，必在埃及地追上你們；你們所懼怕的饑荒，必在埃及緊緊的跟隨你們；你們必死在那裏。 Then the sword, which you fear, will overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, about which you are worried, will follow hard after you there in Egypt; and you will die there.
42:17	凡定意要進入埃及在那裏寄居的，必遭刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫而死；他們必無一人存留，無人逃脫我所降與他們的災禍。 And all the men who set their faces to go to Egypt, to sojourn there, will die by sword, by famine, and by pestilence; and they will have no survivors or any who have escaped from the evil which I will bring on them.
42:18	萬軍之耶和華以色列的神如此說，我怎樣將我的怒氣和忿怒傾在耶路撒冷的居民身上，你們進入埃及的時候，我也必照樣將我的忿怒傾在你們身上。你們必成為辱罵、驚駭、咒詛、羞辱，你們不得再見這地方。 For thus says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, As My anger and My wrath have been poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so My wrath will be poured out on you when you go to Egypt. And you will become an execration and an astonishment and a curse and a reproach, and you will see this place no more.
42:19	猶大餘剩的人哪，耶和華論到你們說，不要進入埃及去！你們要確實的知道，我今日作證警告你們了。 Jehovah has spoken concerning you, O remnant of Judah, Do not go to Egypt! Know assuredly that today I have testified against you,
42:20	你們是自欺了；因為你們差我到耶和華你們的神那裏，說，求你為我們禱告耶和華我們的神，照耶和華我們神一切所說的告訴我們，我們就必遵行。 That you deceived yourselves when you sent me to Jehovah your God, saying, Pray for us to Jehovah our God, and whatever Jehovah our God says, tell this to us, and we will do it.
42:21	我今日告訴你們了，但耶和華你們的神為你們的事，差遣我到你們這裏說的，你們一樣也沒有聽從。 And today I have told you, but you have not listened to the voice of Jehovah your God in anything for which He has sent me to you.
42:22	現在你們要確實的知道，你們在所要去寄居之地，必遭刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫而死。 And now therefore know assuredly that you will die by sword, by famine, and by pestilence in the place where you desire to go and sojourn.
